Question Are there any nice hotels close to the Chicago
Theater downtown? If there are, would there be a
safety concern walking between the hotel and the
theater at night? Would it be difficult to find
a taxi following a concert at the theater on a
Saturday evening?
Answer Dan,
There are probably only nice hotels downtown and near the Chicago Theater. There would be no safety issue walking between the hotel and theater, and there shouldn't ever be a problem finding a taxi after a Saturday evening performance.
Some new hotels in the area (Chicago's re-emerging downtown theater district) include the Hotel Allegro and the House of Blues Hotel.
Also, see the last question I answered for phone numbers for hotel discounters and the local Bed & Breakfast "brokers." You might also want to visit the city's Web site (cityofchicago.org) and link through to their tourist information page. They can give you more specifics about the downtown hotels.
