Question Hello Sharon,
I am currently thinking about relocating to Chicago for a short 3 month period once the new year begins before I go into the Navy. My boyfriend is currently going to Chicago State University (which I understand is not a safe part of the city) but I would like any suggestions on a relatively safe place to be able to rent and work that would be close to him. Any information that you have would be greatly appreciated regarding places that are safe and of a reasonible price for a female renter. Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Emelia
Answer Emelia,
I'm sorry I can't give you specific advice as I'm not familiar with the neighborhoods right around Chicago State. I'd suggest you or your boyfriend ask fellow students or the admissions office at Chicago State for good neighborhood suggestions. Another thought is to call the reference desk at the main branch of the Chicago Public Library (The Harold Washington Library Center) and ask them for a good source for neighborhood information on the Internet. It must be there, but I can't tell you off the top of my head.
