Question
I am married to a US citizen and currently hold a temporary residency card. I got a job outside the US and would most likely be working outside for the duration of 2 years, i do understand that i need to be in the US at least once every year (Or once every six months, i have visited my wife as frequent as once in every six months. My question is, what are my tax obligations and how would my present situation affect my removal of the condition on my green card?

Warm regards

Uzor

Answer
If you do not work in the U.S. or on a U.S. payroll you are not required to file taxes. As far as your I-751 the more time you spend apart the harder the case will be to remove the conditions. You need to have joint bills, taxes, accounts etc.

Robert
