Question
I am currently in US with company A on L1. However my H1 visa with company B got approved and i am now planning to apply for COS so that i can work with Company B. My queries are :-
1) How long it will take for USCIS to approve my COS?
2) If i file for COS and resign from Company A which has my L1, am i eligble to stay and work in US till USCIS decides about my COS?

Answer
Victor,
1.  I do not know how long it will take.  You can apply for premium processing it will take about fifteen days and regular processing it will take three to four months for approval.
2.  No.  You would need an approved COS to start working.

Note, you also have the option of leaving the country and reentering on H1b.
Good Luck
