Question
i got a US immigration visa this month but am planning to shift to USA after a year. But i have to go there within 6 months to get visa validated. So am planning to go next month & come back in 15 days. is it OK or is there a certain amount of time i have to spend there before returning? if i come back in 15 days, will it cause a problem to obtain green card? when will i get my green card?

Answer
Dear Aspi,

There is no problem with coming in for 15 days.  However, be sure to make another landing within 6 months after you leave to avoid problems. You said you need another year, so you may need another entry.  The rule is if you enter the US once every 6 months there would not be a problem.
