Immigration Issues/birth certificate

Question
Hello,
Canadian immigration has asked for long form birth certificate  and I do not have an original birth certificate. All the applications etc filed using class 10 certificate which contains the date of birth. Will it suffice or what should or can do?

Thank u

Prem

Answer
Dear Prem,

Thanks for your inquiry.

Best Option: If you can provide immigration with a copy of municipal letter stating "record not found" then there shouldn't be any problem. They don't accept only grade 10th. certificate as a proof of your birth certificate. You might need to submit a sworn affidavit stating about your birth as well as your siblings and if its possible get one affidavit from your parent(s), stating about all their children.

Ravi
