Immigration Issues/Passport Validity

Question
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is including in your expertise but might as well take a chance.
I'm a Permanent resident of Canada and a Filipino Citizen.
I am visiting Philippines for 20 days on January 2, 2013 up to January 22, 2013.
My passport will expire on March 2013. I wanted to know if 6 months validity of passport
is applicable to me since Philippines is my home country. Would that be a problem when I
come back here in Canada? Do I need to renew my passport before I leave Canada?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Answer
Dear Den,

Thanks for your inquiry.

Through my general experience, 6 months of validity is required if a person is traveling internationally. But the best answer you can get it from your Philippine consulate or your travel agent. If it takes few weeks to get your passport renewed, I definitely suggest you to get it done prior to your trip.
Regards
Ravi
