Question
I am currently residing in Pakistan & struggling from the past 5 years to have divorce from my husband that he did verbally although the written papers are still missing, he is not interested rather threatened me for killing or acid my face. He was violent, abusive and threatened me emotionally, physically and mentally. I have been gone through three of the psychiatry treatments in my married life as well.

I want to move to Canada as a refugee. Am I qualified? If yes, what is the procedure? How much time it is going to take to settle down all the process and acquiring a visa?

Answer
Dear Sanam,

ASA

I regret to say just on the basis you provided, you don't meet the criteria to apply for Refugee. I want you to read the following link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/refugees/outside/index.asp

Hope that will give you broader answer.

Regards,
Ravi
