Question
Hi,

I and my wife hold green card and we have just received Canadian immigration visa as well. Kindly advise if we can keep both US and Canadian permanent residencies at the same time while being  Pakistani citizens. And if we can hold dual, US and Canadian citizenship.

Regards,

Answer
Dear Muhammad,

ASA

Thanks for your inquiry.

In order to maintain your permanent residencies: you must legally meet the residency requirements of both, US 6 mos per year, and Canada 2 years in 5 years (very difficult). Though dual citizenship is allowed for Canada-USA. At the end, you have to decide where the job prospects are better. US is better if we compare job prospects for an educated person.

Ravi
