Question
Hello,

I have a very simple question.I filed my I485(employment based eb3) last year (notice date July 6 2005). Recently, I checked online the processing times of the Vermont Service Center; on their website it says that they are currently processing cases with notice dates of July 18 2005. However I havenít received any letter from immigration yet. When I enter my receipt number it just says that they working on it. Do you think that they might have lost my paperwork? Is there other way to check the status of my case besides online? Is it a good idea to call immigration or should I just keep waiting?

thanks a lot,

Alejandro

Answer
The processing times are just a guesstimate. They did not lose your papers. You can seek assitance from your local Congressman. Calling the 800 number is a waste of time - they are not trained well - you probably know more about Immigration than they do.
