Question
Hello,

I have a friend who filed I-130 for his wife when he was a permanent resident. After he naturalized, he sent photocopy of his certificate of naturalization to NVC. Lately, he received from NVC a letter with the following sentence: “Your inquiry has been received at the NATIONAL VISA CENTER ( NVC). The conrrespondence submitted is currently under review . You will be notified when this review and any appropriate action has been completed. What will NVC do after that?

Thank you for your assistance,

Answer
They will change the category in the computer from 2nd Preference to Immediate Relative and send your friend the fee bills and Packet 3. It will take them a copule of months. Assuming he responds quickly, his wife should get an interview in the next 6-12 months.

Regards.
