Question
I'm currently writing a book about a girl who loses her parents, her brothers and her one and only love. But I do not want to seem its all about death. How do I put this up for readers in the high school grades.

Oh and I am desprate for an answer

Answer
IF you have other aspects of this girls life in the story, then it will not be about death; it might be a tragedy, but with a few twists, it could turn into an interesting story. High school readers love twists, turns, and a LOT of drama. How old are you? If you are near, in, or past the high school grades you will know what it is like to feel exited by drama. Make her date another guy, and then have her one true love come back to her. Make her have to choose. Make it tough, and extremely dramatic, for her to pursue her love life. Also, set her up with maybe a foster mother who doesnt care, or doesnt love her. Family problems create suspense and drama. However, there cannot be too much tragedy. Let her find a best friend, a new pet; a new passion (career or hobby wise). A book full of activity, but not so much that it is confusing, is what teenagers are looking for.
