Experience I have experience in a wide range of genres, including non-fiction, which most creative writers shy away from. Another of my passions is the study of human behaviour. Understanding emotions and reactions to a depth is an incredibly useful tool for making your writing "realistic". A poor understanding of emotion can result in writng becoming "unbelievable", a disaster for any author.
A lot of my fiction is "dressed-up" psychology, but the depth of the explored emotion/dilemma/character study is explored through the story. I mostly do this for young children and teens, as they prefer the fictional element that the story offers, as oppose to the less entertaining essay, while still understanding the message, or moral of the story.
One of my favourite forms of writing is fanfiction; a way of showing your appreciation for other authors' work by taking the story further. I started out that way and now I'm addicted. I write mostly science-fiction and fantasy, but often I find myself trying my hand at crime.
Organizations I belong to a countless number of chat boards (my love for fanfiction). I'm afraid you'll have to look around, though.
Publications I am looking into publishing some of my original works, which I have been putting off for a very long time! At the moment, things are looking very promising.

Question hi i'm having trouble coming up with interesting names for my characters. how can i come up with names as good as the ones JRR Tolkein uses in Lord of the Rings?

I'm sure you know that Tolkien had a whole language structure to work with in writing his novels - Middle English. The thing that made Tolkien's books so great was that he had not only the language, but that language was part of an entire culture he developed, so it resonated with every other cultural element in the books.
The best fantasy has an invented culture where all the elements resonate with each other, like Tolkein's "Middle Earth". Whether you can accomplish that or not remains to be seen. But it may be that one already exists for you.
Where do you live? If you are in, for example, Egypt, you are sitting in a rich culture capable of supporting an invented culture of your own, including names.
However, If you don't want to go to all that trouble, we can still invent some great names without having to structure language and culture. Just take some common name like "Miriam" and rearrange the letters: "Riamim." Another method is to note some of the character's strong points - loyalty, bravery - and merge these: Loyvery. I typed "inventing names fantasy" into google and got 68,000 hits, so there's plenty of help available on the net.
