Increasing Self-Esteem - boys

Expert: Jacky Tustain - 10/14/2009

Question
iam 13 and it seems like all the guys are going for all the blondes...what do i do....do guys like blondes or brunettes..or am i just paranoid

Answer
Hi Kimberly,

Ask yourself the question if guys only ever like blondes how come all the babies in the world aren't blonde?

Also, have a look around at couples around you, your age and older. Are all the girls and women blonde?

I think that answers your question, however to add to it I would suggest that you work on developing some good friendships with boys first - this will help you to understand them and for you both to develop mutual respect for each other. Once you get to understand boys a bit more it will be a lot easier to get into a good, healthy and meaningful relationship.

I'll also add that at 13 boys tend to be pretty immature and superficial in their attitude to girls so don't worry about it. They will catch up with you as you all get older and you both get to understand (hopefully!) how each other ticks!

Jacky
