Expert: Jurriaan Plesman, Nutritional Psychologist - 5/19/2009

Question
I seem to have a good life for now and a have a beautiful girlfriend that's by my side all the time. i don't feel like a good father cause my dad tells me all the time, and i recently got into a fist fight with my father how can i overcome this problems so i can be happy with myself ?

Answer
Hi Alejandro Cruz,

It is no good to get yourself all upset about your father. This can be overcome if you are prepared to study a bit. First you have to get rid of a low self-esteem in the here-and-now. Please read:

Treatment of  a Low Self-Esteem at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/psychotherapy/TOLSE.html

and then study:

Summary of the self-help psychotherapy course at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/self-help_personal_growth.html#PSYCHOTHE...

in its entirety. It looks at the self-image as being at the core one's personality and shows you how you can change this by mental exercises. It includes an assertiveness training program, a communication course establishing significant relationships, and values clarification.

Alternatively,  please read:
The Positive Ego Taining Program at:
http://www.google.com.au/books?vid=ISBN1862525919&id=cIbpj59s-KAC&pg=PR3&lpg=PR3...

I hope I have been f some help.
