I really do not know how to stop. thank you.
Answer T,
I believe there are two different sides to answering this question. The first part is that you might be over thinking yourself; this is a common occurrence with how people think of themselves. It could help to see if people more objective than your parents think that you are being selfish, perhaps a friend. That will help you determine if in fact you have been acting selfishly.
The second part of answering this question is to give you some suggestions of what you can try to feel better about yourself and to hopefully leave behind this feeling lingering over your head. Here are a few of many different suggestions that you can try:
* Try to feel empathy for people in your life, try to imagine what they're going through and try to encourage them or help them with the hardships in their life they might be going through.
* Listen to what others have to say and ask questions about what people tell you, that way you can learn more about them and show interest in their lives.
* Try not to interrupt people when they are speaking, I'm not saying that you do that, it's just a suggestion that might help you overcome this feeling of selfishness.
* Respect others' advice and take it into consideration, if it's not for you then you don't need to follow it, but it will help if you show appreciation for their thought.
* Compliment people on the good qualities about them; even a compliment of a person's wardrobe can go far.
If you need anymore help, don't hesitate to ask! I hope those suggestions were helpful, if not let me know and we'll try something else.
