Hi..As I have been unable, after several hours of googling,find the answer....during ekadashi we cook a 'grain'? called samo or moriyo. what is its name in english. If you can answer this question I would be most thankful. Thankyou.

Hi Nipa,

I searched and came to know that you are talking about sawan (common name in hindi) which is called samo in gujarati.
Its english name is billion dollar grass and is a variety of millet, scientific name being Echinochloa sp.
