Question
What primary religions are practiced in India?

Can you help me understand some commonly held beliefs of the most practiced religions in India.

Are there any barriers to practicing these religions in the United States?

Answer
Dear Reagan,

In India, the primary religions practiced are Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, and Judaism.

The commonly held beliefs are the same as prescribed by these religions and you can get them on internet resources dealing with the religions. I am unable to tell them here, because it would be very very long.

In the United States, post 9/11, some religions like Islam and Sikhism have encountered difficulties regarding wearing their religious dress or maintaining beards or wearing turbans. Other than that, the US has been very open to the practice of all these religions.

With best wishes,
