Indian Law/Construction of basement by builder in India !

Sir Please answer my following query as soon as you can ; it is really urgent ; i shall be very thankful to you.
"Can a builder construct a basement in a building he has already sold out (in India only) ? If No, under which law or Act can he be stopped? If yes, Who will acquire the rights of the said constructed basement?"
Sir , here the builder has sold out the building to different people but still constructs a basement in the same building. Please help me about this .

Dear Abhi
You have not stated whether the flats in it's entirety has been sold out or the builder retains the ownership of the property while only selling the flats. Having said that, you file a petition for injunction if the builders work in anyway affects the integrity of the structure. It can be done under the civil laws.

Please understand that I can only as much of an answer as the details given by you is not much.I would advice you to consult a good civil lawyer in your locality who after your problem in it's entirety will be able to help you better.
