Question Hello!
My name is Sari and I was wondering how hard it would be for me to get a job in Indonesia in the tourism or hotel industries. I am only 19 years old and currently enrolled in the University of Iowa, majoring in French. I am Indonesian but I've lived in the United States since I was 10. Right now I am studying abroad in Croatia and I think I will have problems obtaining a Visa to return to the U.S., so I am just looking at all my options. Obviously I have no experience in either of the fields I mentioned, but I'm willing to train hard and I speak fluent English and good French. Do you think it's possible for me to get a job with my background?
Thank you,
-Sari
Answer Hello Sari,
The hospitality industry is strong at the moment in Jakarta and also Bali, I suggest that you contact the large international hotel chains such as,
Hyatt,
Le Merridian,
Novatel,
Starwood hotels.
I would also suggest that you contact the French Chamber of Commerce who may have some suggestions as to how you can capitalize on your language skills.
