Question we recently read a response to a question someone had on a fish smell in their home. we have lived in our home for four years and we have the same problem. it seems as thought once and a while in one section of our home we smell a fish odor. we are trying to figure if it happens when the vents are running air or when we are running the dryer. we are at a loss. we notified the builder the first year and they said they didn't know and kind of disregarded us. please help four years later and still smells. thank you.
Answer Do you have a crawlspace? if so, check for a moisture barrier and see if its damp underneath. If not, look for any water intrusion from the outside.
Check your dryer exhaust for airflow. Just turn it on and feel the exhaust, should be nice flow.
That odor can possibly an insect problem. If you have exterminator, let them know. Check around area for any holes or anything out of the ordinary.
