Industrial Health and Safety/research topic

i m interested in risk management in construction industry as a research topic but i m having problem defining objectives and scope.

There are so many problems with risk in the construction industry, it's not even funny. First, find a topic that interests you. Make sure the topic has practical significance. It's one thing to make a unique discovery, but completely another to find something that matters and is useful.

Secondly, use only peer-reviewed journal articles and search your topic thoroughly. Read some of these journals as many conclude with "ideas on future research".  An easy way to get started is to use Google Scholar, although not all articles can be accessed. At least you can get some ideas.

Lastly, use the information you find in the journal articles to draw some conclusions. Then, you can formulate a hypothesis and narrow your scope of research to something more specific.

Here are some ideas:

Experience Modification Rating (EMR) and Competitive Advantage
Litigation Factors in Construction
Risk Allocation Via Contracting in Construction
Injury Rate Correlations and Risk
Risk Factors that Predict Losses in Construction

I hope this helps.

Warmest regards,
