Question
Hi Dr Roseff, my husband and I have been TTC since Nov '06. I finally got pregnant in Feb '08 but m/c in March. The hospital told me that they could not see a fetal pole and there may have been a yolk sac working it's way out of my cervix at the time i did my u/s. I finally went to see an RE and after some testing, he decided to put me on Femara for CD 3 to CD 7 ( I ovulate a little later than usual since my m/c) and dexamethosone which should be taken every evening. He said some of my hormones were a little on the high side (I know testosterone was one of them) and he said the lining of my uterus was a little thin. Will these two drugs together make any difference for me?

Answer
Hi Tania,

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.  Femara is used for someone who doesn't ovulate normally without medication - Do you not ovulate by cycle day 19?

Dexamethasone has been used for women with high levels of adrenal gland male hormones (like DHEAS) - Is this your case?  Do you have PCOS?  Are you seeing a BOARD CERTIFIED RE?  What did your insulin level show?
