Question Hello. If I started my first dose of clomid 6pm, Monday 6/23/08, when should I expect to detect my LH surge by OPK? Also, is there any drawback to extending my daily dose of clomid by 3 hours daily in an effort to ovulate just a little bit later? thanks.
Answer Hello Bethany. Everyone responds differently to Clomid. However, you would typically see an LH surge on day 13 or 14 which is when ovulation occurs. I myself have seen it earlier on certain cycles, as early as on day 12. When you buy a kit, it comes with 7 sticks, so you can begin testing a few days early in case you ovulate earlier than usual. This can happen with Clomid. You should also be monitored by ultrasound when on Clomid. Has your doctor scheduled this? This would help you know exactly when you'll ovulate, based on the size of the follicles. I have not heard of any effects of delaying your dose by 3 hours. I hope this helps. Good luck.
