Question I've had procedures done to determine any problems with my reproductive system and the findings were; my right side is not functioning and can only ovulate from my left, and my estrogen level is low. I was put on Clomid for about 6-8mnths until I had to go overseas. I have regular period minus 1-2 days off. My questions are, what can I do to increase my estrogen level? do I need estrogen to conceive?
Answer Hello,
There is no simple answer to your question and only your doctor can evaluate your situation to determine what is the best step. When on the Clomid, did you get ultrasound monotoring and if so, did that show any follicle development? If that is the case, you can conceive, if you are developing mature follicles. I don't believe you need to increase your estrogen to conceive, that your estradiol levels are important to tell if your ovaries are being stimulated. If it's been more than a year of trying, you may want to see a reproductive endocrinologist who can evaluate whether other medications are needed since the clomid did not work.
