Infertility/Fertility/Amenorhea post breast feeding

Hi Dr. Ramirez,
I had my first baby 9 months ago, at age 29. My husband would like to have another baby soon as he is in his mid 40s and doesn't want to wait much longer. I stopped breast feeding completely 3 months ago but have only had 1 cycle of menstrual bleeding since that time. I have used ovulation predictor kits but it would appear that I am not ovulating yet. Is there anything I can do to increase my fertility at this time? I have heard alot about using Vitex or Lydia Pinkham supplements to help with ammenorhea and fertility and was curious if this might help. I am a healthy weight (BMI 20) and have no medical issues. Thanks so much for your help. I am writing from Connecticut.

Hello Hannah from the U.S. (Connecticut),

There are no "natural" methods that I know of.  You either need to wait for your ovarian function to return or use fertility medication to induce ovulation.

Good Luck,
