Infertility/Fertility/Difficulty conceiving

Question
Hi there. Myself and my partner have a 4 year old child. For the last 4 months we have been trying to conceive again to no avail. I understand that it can take some time however I am concerned that my cycle seems to have changed from a regular 25/26 days to anywhere between a 20 - 29 day cycle. On the first attempt I was approx 5 days early (resulting in a 20 day cycle). My period started hours after sexual intercourse. The following month I had a 29 day cycle (I was 4 days later than I would have expected on my normal 25/26 day cycle). The following month I had a 28 day cycle and this month my cycle reduced to 24 days - I was approx 4 days earlier than expected on what I thought was my new 28/29 day cycle. I've also noticed a difference in the flow (it is lighter, medium rather than heavy flow & a brighter red). I have taken 3 pregnancy tests just to be sure but they have all been negative. We have sexual intercourse AT LEAST every 3 days, moreso since it has become difficult to estimate ovulation. My cycle has always been predictable up until now. I have not been stressed or had a recent change in weight. Is this change in cycle normal when trying to conceive? I hear that irregular periods are linked to fertility problems. Have I become infertile? I otherwise feel fine. Many thanks in advance.

Answer
It's not normal to have 20 day cycles.  Consider seeing a board certified reproductive endocrinologist who can find out WHY your cycles are irregular and guide you accordingly.
