About Nita Expertise Hi! My name is Nita. I am an egg donor myself. I have spent hours and
hours researching the rewards and risks involved with egg donation. I
have had the most beautiful experience of my life being an egg donor, I
have also had a not so good experience that did not result in an egg
donation. So, I am very aware of the psychological aspects from each end
of the spectrum. I am here to help the egg donor, to focus on you, your
concerns and your questions. Of course, I will be happy to help anyone,
any way that I can. Feel free to ask me anything, even if I don`t know,
I may be able to point you in the right direction!

Question Hi! I am really thinking about becoming an egg donor. I've about it online, but I want to know about your experience, especially your not so good experience. I am worried that becoming an egg donor may reduce my chances of becoming pregnant in the future. Do you know anything about this? I am 25 years old, and although I don't have any children yet, I plan to start trying in about a year. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Answer Hi Laura,
My bad experience actually had more to do with the agency than anything. My first donation was independant and WONDERFUL! It is the only donation I ever did. I attempted to do another donation through an agency but after being jerked around I decided to end the relationship with the agency.
Being an egg donor does have many risks. It is possible (although unlikely) that the actual rectrieval procedure could scar certain tissues making it harder to maintain a pregnancy. I would advise you to look into the risks online, there are many websites that give tons of information about the risks. But, remember that agencies do tend to NOT elaborate on those risks as their profit comes from their being able to provide donors.
I hope this has helped you and feel free to write if you have more questions.
