Infertility/Fertility/Estrogen too high??

Question
After 2 years of unexplained infertility,we conceived on our first cycle of IUI w/ Clomid. Now trying to conceive a 2nd baby, we have done 4 IUI cycles with no success. Again, I was put on 50mg clomid on days 3-7. Last cycle, I got sick with thrush and was told by my GP that this could be due to high estrogen levels. I also have been experiencing very heavy periods with many clots. Unfortunately, my RE only checks progesterone & prolactin levels and not estrogen. Could high estrogen levels cause hyper-stimulation or a lining that is too dense for implantation?

Answer
Hello Jennifer,

High estrogen doesn't cause hyperstimulation per se, but can be a marker for hyperstimulation.  In other words, if someone HAS hyperstim, then her estrogen level is usually high.

Yes, too high an estrogen level can cause a lining that's too thick, though this is a rare occurrence.
