Question
Hi. I'm 25, married and in good health.  I have been reading a lot about Herbs for fertility. I have been taking Chasteberry and Dong Quai for 3 months and I still haven't had a period or ovulated. I have a clean bill of health just waky hormones. Am I not taking the correct amount? I take 1100 mg of Dong Quai and 580 mg of chasteberry at night to avoid stomach problems. Am I doing this wrong? I really don't want to take fertility drugs that are so hard on your system and feel really unhealthy. Can you help? What are some signs they are working?

Thanks.

Answer
In general, chasteberry does nothing to enhance fertility (despite what you've read).  Dong Quai is contraindicated in women trying to get pregnant or who are pregnant.  I suggest you place yourself under the care of a qualified, board certified reproductive endocrinologist who believes in a holistic approach to helping you conceive.  You're welcome to come here, if you want (as that's our approach!).

Best of success,
