Question
I was on 50mg (not sure), clomid day 3-5. My follicle on day 10 measured 10mm and on day 12 it was 11mm and 9mm on day 14. My doctor said ovulation might not happen during this cycle and asked me to wait for the next. However, I recently found out I am pregnant. I am really spooked about this pregnancy. I have had 2 abortions (one was done voluntarily, other as a result of miscarriage). The doctor told me that I must have ovulated on day 12 or 13 which is how I got pregant. Does the quality of the egg released depend on the size of the follicle and what are the chances I will miscarry this baby?

Answer
The quality of the egg indeed depends on the follicle size (and vice verse).  I can't tell you your odds of miscarriage, but I will say that Clomid is generally taken for 5 days and not for 3 days (as you stated herein).  If you lose another pregnancy, consider seeing a board certified reproductive endocrinologist to find out why you are recurrently miscarrying.

Good luck,
