Infertility/Fertility/Gonal-F

Question
Our Dr. prescribed Gonal-F 3 900 i/u pens (300 i/u per day for 9 days).  Due to cost, we were wondering if we could limit it to 2 900 1/u pens, and 1 450 i/u pen.  2 years ago, I became pregnant w/ twins via IVF (carried 1 healthy to full term).

She said she is using this dosage based off our charts from last time.  She can decrease, if we want to take the chance. My questions is how much difference is this? It is a huge reduction in medicine that it could affect the outcome?

Thank you.

Answer
Dear Nancy,

The success of an ART cycle, in part, depends on using the "correct" dose of medicine.  Since your RE knows your history best, they would be the one you should ask this question to about decreasing your dosage....

Good luck!
