Infertility/Fertility - after clomid

Expert: Scott Roseff, MD, FACOG - 6/10/2002

Question
so what happens if 150 mg of clomid doesnt work? I have follicles forming but am still not ovulating. Doc said progesterone test was .06 mg on day 17 & it was supposed to be like 15-16 mg so he wants me to go up to 150 mg of clomid. I am taking Progesterone in between cycles also. I am only 22 & dont understand why I cant have a baby. I know u cant tell me but i was jsut wondering what my ooptions were after Clomid. Getting desperate. thx

Answer
Hi,
Some women ovulate later on Clomid, so if you ovulate on day 19, your progesterone level is SUPPOSED to be low on day 17 (it only rises after ovulation)....  Also, if you make a follicle on Clomid but don't ovulate, you may be a candidate for hCG injection to trigger the follicle to ovulate.  It sounds to me like you need to see a qualified reproductive endocrinologist.  You're welcome to come here for expert care, or you can try and find an excellent doctor in your area.
