For what it's worth to others wondering about this problem, my husband was born with a vericose seal. He fathered 3 children, the last being when he was about 31 years old.
Now at 42 & a second marriage (me) we have been trying to conceive for 5 months. The sperm count revealed only 5 million & 20% motility & they couldn't even check the morphology because there were so few. To top it off, I have a short luteal phase. We will go to a urologist, but keep in mind, they told my husband all his life he'd never have kids & he did!

He almost certainly is not sterile. Excellent sperm can still be retrieved directly from a testicle. It sounds worse that it is and, more importantly, the procedure actually obtains very high quality sperm. Paired with IVF, there is no reason you can't have a baby.

i though varicose seal was to do merely with the veins, which doesn't cause any problems, they are basically like varicose veins of the leg. can be fixed with an operation but on if its causing discomfort.P.s. my BF has this aswell and this is what his GP has said to him.
