About Philip Lafeber
Expertise
I have been specialising in knowledge analysis and modelling. I have an interest in the way models of programs, architectures, business processes and the like are properly made and analysed. What`s meant by `properly` depends on the goal you`re trying to achieve. The analysis of this goal and the way it can best be realised is something you might want to ask me about.

Question
Phillip,

I am a HR Manager for a Software Development firm and was wondering if I was to pay for an employees Graduate Studies would that money paid be taxable or is deductible?  If you have any knowledge in this please let me know.  Thank you for your time.

Rosemarie Mohr

Answer
If the person in question is paying taxes in Holland, and if the studies are job related, it would be deductible. I take it this holds for almost any other country as well.
On top of that, all the study materials can also be deducted of course. Even expenses on a part of the student's residents might be deducted if it can be proven that it is used for studying. But again, I only know this to be true in Holland.
