Ingres/Ingres table Ownership

I have recently experienced a Unix server failure. When the server was powered back on my ingres database, version II 2.6/201, had an inconsistant database error.

At the advice of a former admin i preformed a force consistant command which did allow me to access the database.

This issue i am finding now is there are tables that i can see in the catalogs through ingmenu, they show ownership as ingres, but have no permissions.

I have tried to give permissions as ingres but i get a message with the following error code.

" E_US0845 Table 'trdcut2' does not exist or is not owned by you. "

Again I have a few tables doing this and i am not sure how to proceed.

Thank you for reading this and i would appreciate any help.

Hello Eric,

Quick reply :-)

When database become inconsistant advice is :
Unloaddb (to unload data)
Createdb (to reload data)

For your permission issue note in system catalog the real owner (see table_owner in iitables) and use -u flag on sql or isql command.

Normally Ingres user is a super user and can use -u.
If you use something else look in accessdb (Ingres system tool) to update su property of the user you want he superseed others.

If you experience inconsistant dB after a crash it can be :
- Because you delete logging system before ingstart
- some TX use "set nologging" and fail

Hope this help you.
