Question We are customer of ingres using Ingres V2.0 in 2 diff unix machines. 1). On Alpha 800 Server with OS.Digital unix 4.0D
2).DS25 Compaq server with OS Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.1A.
We are in the process of upgrading our network infrastructure. As a result we need to change the IP address of the server running Ingres which is in 200.100.100.X IP series.
We would like to know the impact of IP addr change for ingres & what should we do for it.
Answer Hello,
First, my apologies for the late ...
Concerning network adddress Ingres is impacted by the machine name (for configuration stuff, config.dat and see ingprenv), so you can change it has you want.
Take care if you have client app acceding your servers via IP address.
Eventualy licences (CA flavour) are linked to your mac address (if you change your network cards), but you can find a generic one on their site servicedesk.ingres.com.
