Question Where can I find a skate to fit a size 15 6E foot. I have a 14 year old boy who is interested in roller skating, I feel this would be good for him and I can not stand to see him watching his friends and can not join in but, I have looked every where for this size. I can not afford custom made. Can you help me!
Thanks
Answer Hi Joyce,
Because that size will be hard to find I would suggest you go to your local roller rink because they have catalogs you can look though. The sales person should be able to tell you if any skates in the catalog come in the size you're looking for.
Some brands of skates do not run true to size...they run larger. I know ladies skates run large but I'm not sure about the mens. So if your son wears a size 15 he may very well wear a 13 or 14 in a skate. Talk to the sales person and get all the info you can.
Because a lot of the kids now a days have larger feet the rink carry larger size skates.....have you checked to see if they have a rental skate in his size? Even if they carry a 14...have your son try them on because they just might fit. The rental skates are usually soft, stretched out and soft.
Another option would be to search online. Sometimes to verify a skate size they need to know your foot size in inches rather than a shoe size. This is a much better way to measure. If you measure your sons foot, have him stand up and put his weight on it. That way you'll get an accurate measurement.
I'm sure the roller rinks can help or at least give you information. Have them measure your sons foot and tell you what size skate he would wear.
To be perfectly honest you may have to go with a custom skate. But get all that information from the rink sales person. I'm sure they have all price ranges.
You may even want to contact the skate manufacturer directly. Go to Riedellskates.com and look for the "contact us" link. Explain your situation to them.
Good Luck, I hope you find skates for you son.
