Subject: Soil erosion

Question
Neighbor (a Tenant renter)removed privacy fence on his side without first notifying us, reulting in excavating 8 inches of soil on his side, resulting in loss of soil on our property and strong possibility of more soil loss from our property due to erosion. Any recourse?

Answer
Hi Carole-
This involves fence ownership laws, which vary by state, and also the owner of the property.  This isn't an area I'm familiar with, but it sounds like they caused damage.  You may want to contact the landlord, and tell him to put the area back to normal.  Sorry I can't be of more help. :) Denise
