AboutDenise Expertise I am a licensed Property/Casualty agent in the state of Wisconsin, a Certified Insurance Counselor and a Certified Insurance Service Representive, with a 15+ year background in personal insurance underwriting. I am currently working in the Homeowners and Auto field, and was licensed in Life and Health insurance years ago. I can provide input if you will give me a "one paragraph what`s the story", however depending on the situation, do note that as policy forms and endorsements vary by the state, the information may be general and educational in nature.
Question Hi,I recently got my car stolen and it was recovered, but with heavy damages and blood in the car.I thought for sure my insurance would total it out,but they are trying to get it fix.Is there anyway I could refuse to take it?Also this is a high end Audi do I have a choice as to were I can get it repaired? Thanks for any info.
Answer Hi Mark-
If the car isn't a total loss, I don't see any way that you can refuse to take the car back. Usually they will have it repaired at the shop that gives the lowest estimate. You can ask them to have it repaired at the shop of your choice, but if the hourly work rate is higher than the average, they won't want to pay the difference. Hope this helps. :) Denise
