Insurance Law/roof patch versus replace

Retired P/C Insurance Agent, KY wrote at 2013-02-04 16:48:12
I have done a fair amount or searching in the KARs (KY Insurance Statutes) and an HO3 insurance contract.  I do not find this term in either.  To summaryize, "Line of Sight" means, if I stand in this position, what do I see? (My Opinion) "Line of Sight", is a Survey Term that I hear a lot of Adjusters use.  While doing my research on this term, I find it most referred to in reference to interior damage, as opposed to expterior damage.  I will say I am currently involved in a claim, as a contractor, for exterior siding replacement and the Insurance Company is attempting to use this to only replace the elevation of the house.  I am at this point not sure it actually applies in the law or Insurance Contracts in KY.
