Subject: Selling a commodity in Taiwan & China

Thank you very much !
Sean R. Hunter
Answer Hello Sean. Thanks for writing to me.
There are two main procedures you have to go through in China to begin selling your product.
1-You have to establish yourself as a business in China. Either by opening a representative office and getting a license to operate as such. Or by opening a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise, plus office in China.
The choice depends on your business model. If you plan on generating revenue in China you will have to do the latter. Costs can run about $20,000 to set up the business and about $100k in investment in a China bank account.
You need to rent office space, fill out application forms and go through the process for all of the above.
2-You have to get your product approved for sale in China. You must submit your product to the proper authorities and go through about a six month process.
My company, China BrightStar specializes in helping people like you do all of this. It is very difficult to nearly impossible to do without a local team on the ground in China representing you.
If we can be of further help please let me know.
Best,
Michael
