About Thomas J. McAlinden, Professional Consultant
Expertise
After a highly successful 30+ year career in personnel and human resources, in tandem with a Masters in Human Resources degree, a Master of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy, I am rather confident I can answer almost any question related to the Resume Preparation field.

Experience
Over the past 50 years, I have had the privilege of working for a number of small and large US and Canadian firms and government agencies as a human resource specialist and vocational psychologist. Although I am currently retired, I now offer my services at reduced rates to various international employment agencies and career conscious individuals find it advantageous to undergo vocational testing prior to having their resume prepared. Those who may be similarly interested are invited to contact me at: tjmcalinden@sympatico.ca. Unfortunately, the days when the job search candidate could "going it alone", depend on old vocational skills assessments, and then just prepare their own employment presentations are over.

International Jobs - Career Advice

Expert: Thomas J. McAlinden, Professional Consultant - 2/21/2002

Question
Dear MR. McAlinden,
I am a spanish aeronautical engineer . Currently I am working in Spain but I would like to go abroad and have international experience. My choices are EU (where I have work permit because I am an EU Citizen), EEUU and Canada (where I do not have a work permit). I have 6 years of experience in two diferent fields (3 in Integrated Logistic Support and 3 in stress analysis). My final goal is to have an executive role. Now I am 29 years old.
I would need some career advice. What shoud I do? Which field should follow?. How can I get an international job (I speak fluent english, perfect spanish, medium french and a little german)

Answer
Hello again sir!

Earlier this year you contacted me at Allexperts with a career related problem. I hope things worked out for you. I now have a new website at http:///www.tjmcareers.com. This new site contains 25 career oriented sections dealing with the most important problems facing the 21st century's job-search candidate. I also invite you to send me a copy of your current resume for a free review. Best of luck and God bless.

As volunteers with this network, we depend on member feedback. Therefore, I would appreciate if you would kindly grade this response, and adding a few comments. Positive or negative, I still appreciate the feedback.

TJ McAlinden, MS, MHR, MA
48 Years Personnel and Human Resource Experience.
