Question
Hi, thanks for being so helpful, i love you! I went to my laptop which has the vnc, found out the i.p address of the computer, turned it off, then i went on my other computer which has the vnc too, typed in the i.p address of the laptop and it asked me for a password. i intentionally didnt put a password on the laptop vnc, but it still requires a password when i type the i.p address of the laptop. and also do i type the local address or the foreign address?

Hi, do you know anything about the VNC remote access program? If you do please could u answer the following question, i would much appreciate it. I want to connect to a friend of mines computer. He has VNC and i do too. i do not want him to have to tell me his i.p address for me to gain 50% control of his computer. another mate of mine controlled my computer, and i was able to do so after i accepted any file from him on msn messenger. I think in order to do this you have to go into the CMD and type something-or-other im not sure. he wont tell me how to do it. Please could you tell me how to connect to someones computer who has VNC too- just by accepting a file?
Thankyou,
jimmy feldman

Hi Jimmy,

Sorry for a late reply.

You have a valid tricky point. Let me demystify it for you.

For connecting to remote machine you need to know the ip.

There are ways to know the ip of someone. accepting file or just chatting on messanger with your friend, you establish a connection with remote machine. while you are chatting or exchanging the file. Goto run--CMD and type there netstat. you would know which are the remote machines you are conencted to. Take IP from here and use VNC to connect.

I hope it helps.

Thanks

Hi Jimmy,

You dont need to type colon. just IP is enough xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx form.

Connection time out means that you are not able to reach that server. before using vnc, try pinging remote machine. if your ping is successful and vnc is running on remote machine, you would be able to connect.

I hope it helps.

Thanks

Hi Jimmy,

Ping command is ping ipaddress. which would run from start--run--cmd , and type the command here.

You can ask as many question you want. I would like to see it working for you.

Thanks
Mahenss

Answer
Hi,

when connected with dialup or with ISP, you need to type foriegn address. if you have two systems connected with the help of switch or hub, local addess  would do. Password requirments depends on the other host what he configured actually. if there is a password, you need to type it.

I hope it helps.

Thanks
Mahenss
