Question Hi, I would like to be able to have links I can give people to click on so they (such as when asking an allexperts expert a question) can see a picture or small group of pictures. I have seen a few upload sites where you can send people a password or invitation or something, but in order to be able to attach an image to a question on allexperts, you have to be able to give an actual url link they can click on, if I understand right. I don't need any editing capabilities with the pictures, just have some way that other people can view them when they click the link I send them. This would just be for occasional use with a variety of recipients. Do you know of a fast way to get such a capabililty? One possibility I just realized -- I subscribe to ibackup.com to share audio files but when I do, ibackup generates an e-mail to recipient with a link to click on to download the audio file. Would it work if I copy a photo onto ibackup, copy the link out of that e-mail, paste it into the allexperts' "image file" box (then I don't even bother sending the e-mail itself), then could the expert click on the link and see the photo file? Or am I missing something? Any suggestions much appreciated. Prefer quick and simple to set up and use. Thanks for reading this.
Answer To send a link to someone to be able to view a picture or a page of pictures, the address of the link has to be on a public WEB server someplace. There are a number of free or pay services (like snapfish.com) that will allow you to upload photo albums that you can link others to.
You could also get your own small website. Your ISP might include some WEB storage space in your subscription. You can get a small site (with your own domain) for a under $5/mth. You could then upload any files you want and send your friends a link.
