Internet for Beginners - Are emails stored permanently

Expert: Pat Dunlap - 4/7/2009

Question
Are emails stored permanenly on your computer where someone can retrieve them?

Answer
Yes and no.  If you delete emails and use the Trash Bin, you or another person cannot retrieve them, BUT they are still on the hard drive and an "expert" could retrieve them.  Usually done in criminal cases.  Interestingly enough though just read today where some companies (not to be named) are starting to store email exchanges.  Be careful of what you type.  Pat
