Question
I don't have Tools under Device Manager. By the way, i got Adobe Reader 7 to finally finish downloading and installing. It first said it couldn't open it, so i shut off the firewall, then i clicked it again and it installed it. However the ICQ download says "Invalid Win32 application". By the way, do you know how to check to see what IE that i am running. I know i can go to Run, but i don't know what to type in to check.

When i download ICQ5 Lite, it gets about halfway done, then ought of a sudden it stops and when i click on the install, it says file corrupted, which i think is because it doesn't finish.

Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and how to fix it.

Also when i click on the install of Adobe Acrobat Reader 7, it got up to about 75% done, then i got disconnected and when i click to finish installing it, it says file corrupted i guess because of the same reason the ICQ said that.

Have you done regular maintenance on your PC? Things like a defrag and disk error checking? It sounds like their could be a problem on your drive.

Yes, that's what error checking does. Without knowing what version of Windows I can't tell you exactly how to do it. But since you had to ask the followup, I suspect you haven't done any of the regular maintenance chores. So that's the first thing I would do.

Open My Computer, right click on the drive and select Properties. Under Tools, first run Error Checking, then Defragmentation.

Answer
Who said anything about Tools and Device Manager? I told you to Open My Computer, right click on the drive and select Properties. Under Tools, first run Error Checking, then Defragmentation.

Second, to find the version of just about any software, click Help>About.
