Question
When you buy a computer, there are all these internet icons: on your desktop; in your start key; and at the bottom right task bar.  My question is why are there all these internet access icons like AOL, Internet Explorer, etc. Do you need all these internet accesses?  Also, how
do you know which access is your default access which lets you use your computer or do you have to program your access.  Thanks.

Answer
The reason all those icons are there is because (with the exception of Internet Explorer) the services pay to be there. They are essentially ads allowing you to try the services (or other software).

You only need one ISP (Internet Service Provider). There is no default service. Internet Explorer is a WEB browser that you use to access WEB pages. Some ISPs (like AOL) have their own integrated browser. Otherwise you use IE or one of the other browsers available like Firefox or Opera.

Hope this helps
