Internet for Beginners - Re-send Email

Expert: Lorry - 2/2/2005

Question
Norton antivirus was unable to send your email message because the connection to your mail server was interupted. Please open your email client and re-send the message from the sent messages folder.
The above is my problem.

After going to the sent messages folder I can find no reference to the re-send reference. I have been going to forward as I could not find a re-send reference. This means I have to type in misc information again re the address (to: cc: bcc: subject) and then send. I also have to remove this information from the main body of the email. The original text is there so that is not a problem.
I am on a dial up connection and have Windows 98se and Outlook Express 6.0.

I am a newbie to this computer age so I hope I have not confused you (as I am) re the above question and thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you can give me.

Larry.

Answer
Hi Larry,

When you view the Sent folder in Outlook Express, if a message hasn't been actually sent yet, the envelope icon next to the name of the person it was addressed to would be closed. If the message actually was sent, the envelope would be opened.

If you're not sure if it was sent, double click the mesage to open it, then click Send. If it did go, the option to Send will not be available.

If you're still not sure, open a new message and copy and paste the name, subject and message in the appropriate spots.

To copy and paste:

1.Move your mouse cursor to the beginning of the text that you want to copy.

2.Hold down your left mouse button and glide your cursor along the text that you want to copy.

3.Once you have all text highlighted that you want to copy, hit the CTRL key and 'C' key simultaneously, or, you could go to Edit and click Copy.

4.To paste the text that you just copied, move your
cursor to the area that you want to place your text.

5.Click your left mouse button.

6.Hit the CTRL key and the 'V' key simultaneously, or, you could go to Edit and click Paste.

Hope this helps!
Lorry
