Internet for Beginners - Website's won't load

Expert: Corey Bryant - 1/20/2005

Question
I have a high-Speed Cable Connection but there are a handful of websites out there that just won't work. They work on other connections. How do I fix it?

Answer
What OS are you using?  Have you tried to change browsers?  have you tried to clear the internet cache?

When you say won't work - are they just not loading, timing out, etc?  If they are not loading & it is timing out, can you ping it?

To ping the site: Go to run, type in CMD and <ENTER>.  At the DOS prompt, type in ping example.com (replacing example.com with the domain name you cannot reach) and <ENTER>.  Do you get back some numbers or does it say unreachable?
